2021 Run Good Series

RunGood Casino Champion Leaderboard

David Albertson, RunGood Event 1 Champion

Tomorrow is the last day of the RunGood series and we will crown our Casino Champion along with our Main Event Champion.

David Albertson sits atop the leaderboard courtesy of his Event 1 win and owning the tie-breaker with the most cash earned. He’s also looking good going into Day 2 of the Main Event after bagging the Flight A lead.

Both the Main Event Champ and Casino Champ will earn a seat for the RunGood All-Stars exclusive tournament in December that will be played in the PokerGo studio.

Players are dropping in a hurry and that means we have some big stacks emerging. Two of the new top stacks belong to Theo Lawson and Brandon Schwartz.

Lawson (a 2013 Lucky Hearts Poker Open Hollywood trophy winner) is up to 127,500 and Schwartz (RunGood Event 1 final table member) is sitting with 125,000 as the end of the night gets close.

Level 8:  400/800 with a 800 ante

Frank Russo

Larry Klur open-shoved for 12,800 from early position and the cutoff player pushed out a stack worth 34,000 (not all in). Frank Russo was on the button and started to talk and think. He had 18,400 behind and called at risk before the blinds folded.

Russo: KsJs
Klur: 8h8c
Cutoff: 7h7s

“No sets!” Russo asked the dealer.

Klur was ahead for the triple up and nothing changed on the As9c3s flop. The Ad turn paired the board and the 9s put two pair aces and nines out there. Russo’s king kicker played and he celebrated while Klur was eliminated from the Main Event.

Frank Russo – 51,600 (65 bb)

Main Event Day 1B: Jessica Cai Flushes Tim Kegel

Jessica Cai

Jessica Cai opened to 1,200 from the cutoff and picked up calls from Scott Zakheim on the button and Tim Kegel in the small blind. The flop came Kd9c4d and Kegel bet 1,400.

Cai and Zakheim called, the turn came Jd and Kegel bet another 2,300. Cai called, Zakheim folded, and the river was 6s. Kegel fired again for 4,000 and Cai called after a short think.

Cai: 9d8d
Kegel: Ks9s

Kegel flopped two pair but Cai’s middle pair/diamond draw got there on the turn and she dragged the pot.

Jessica Cai – 46,900 (94 bb)
Tim Kegel – 25,000 (50 bb)

We’re seeing a lot of players from our sister room in Hollywood taking the short drive north for the RunGood Main Event. Steven McKoy is one of them and it didn’t take long for him to jump into the lead. He was one of the late reg players and spun his 20K starting stack up to 102,600

With 245 entries so far, the prize pool is on the verge of pushing the prize pool over $250,000.

There are a lot of visitors in the tournament today but it’s a local leading the way. Devin Batista returned to the biggest stack in the room at this point with 82,300 in a room without a lot of big stacks.

Level 5 is underway to leave only two hours and change before we close the doors on the Main Event.

The first break of the crazy day came around and the Poker Room emptied of players. They’ll be able to take 15 minutes to grab a bite, drink, or fresh air before coming back to Level 5.

They’ll four more levels after that and registration will close after the second break.
