Cards are in the air following the first break of the day. With more than 150 players in the game, the $100,000 guaranteed Monster Stack is over halfway to its guarantee.
With deep, 30,000-chip stacks, the tournament is still growing as the blinds and antes continue to increase. Seminole regular Francis Margaglione owns one of the largest stacks in the room (more than 70,000) while current Casino Championship leader John DePersio is one of the newest buy-ins to the game.

With that, the seven-time ring winner makes his Seminole Casino Coconut Creek debut. On top of his seven titles, Waaland owns 53 cashes and is creeping up on $500,000 in earnings on the WSOP Circuit alone. A resident of South Carolina, Waaland had a deep run in last September’s event at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, finishing 13th in a $580 buy-in six-max tournament.
He hopes for more of the same here in Coconut Creek as players prep to go on their first break.

We’re less than two levels into the day and already the field has hit 100 entries. With 30,000-chip stacks, there’s plenty of play and players often wait until the later levels to take their shots in the game. The $100,000 guarantee is drawing some talent with yesterday’s newly minted ring winner Martin Ryan among those in the early going.
Ryan had a busy day yesterday, winning Event 3 before registering Event 4. From there, he found the felt and got in Event 5 before ultimately busting again and taking the rest of the day off.

One of the most anticipated events of the 2018 World Series of Poker Circuit is underway in the Pavilion at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. Event 6, a multi-flight Monster Stack with $100,000 guaranteed, has a $400 buy-in and sees players log 30- and 45-minute levels.

Event 5 drew 55 players and there were still five players around when play came to an end for Day 1. With six getting paid, they made the money in the early morning hours and SHRP regular John Gorsuch cashed out in sixth place before they bagged up their chips for a Day 2 return.

The first Monday of the WSOP Circuit series had a fast-paced tournament on the schedule to award a title and some nice money all in one day. Event 4 was a $400 Double Stack Turbo tournament that drew 153 entries and Mark Stephen Edwards came from behind to win his second career WSOP Circuit ring.
Those entries created a prize pool worth $50,490 and the last 18 players shared some piece of that money. There were only 27 players remaining when they went on dinner and in the money not long after.
It was a tough field and former SHRP champ Angelo Miele held the chip lead when they formed the final table. But his advantage quickly disappeared after a series of tough hands that sent him out in ninth place.
Former WSOP bracelet and WSOP Circuit ring winner Tristan Wade was the most accomplished player to make the final table but he could not run up his short stack. He laddered up as others dropped out and he finished in fifth place.
Edwards was one of the shorter stacks at the start of the final table but won a big race early to double. He rode his growing stack to a heads-up battle with Francis Margaglione, another multiple SHRP champ, and they swapped the lead several times.
In the end, Edwards outlasted Margaglione to take the title. Margalione earned $8,425 but was disappointed to not win his first WSOP Circuit ring while Edwards took home $13,632. This is his second career WSOP Circuit ring with his first coming back in 2008.
