The turn came Qh, Singh bet another 6,500 and his opponent raised to 11,500. Singh called, the river was 3s and he bet 16,000. His opponent thought for a minute, tossed in a call, and mucked when Singh showed Ah8h for aces up with an eight kicker.

The turn was 8h, Figueroa moved all in for 21,700 and Czinkota called.

Czinkota was ahead with two pair nines and eights and Figueroa needed to catch his heart draw or gutshot straight draw to double. The river was 6c to send Czinkota the pot and Figueroa out (for now).

Ron Levy

Ron Levy is having a great day in the back of the Poker Room and leads the field heading towards the second break. He is up to 177,500 for a clear lead and trying for a unique accomplishment.

There are only a handful of players who have won tournaments at the three Seminole properties with poker in Florida. Levy won the $300 No Limit Hold’em tournament in Tampa and went home with the $365 Turbo WSOP Circuit ring in Hollywood. The only title missing is the Coco trophy and this would be a good one to get.

Francois Gagne is the big stack in the room with 89,300 and Christopher Lovett is second with 81,000. Gagne seems to have picked up some chips from Shawn Lucas who’s having a swingy day but having fun.

Main Event Day 1C: Michael Goldfarb Eliminated by Mike Laufer

Michael Goldfarb

With the board out to the turn and reading 8d6h5s, Michael Goldfarb bet 12,000 with 12,000 behind and Mike Laufer raised to 26,000 from the button. Goldfarb would have to call at risk and he took a minute to think about it before he called.

Goldfarb: 8h7s
Laufer: 6d6c

Goldfarb flopped top pair but he was crushed but Laufer’s middle set. The board finished with the Jc turn and Th river to send Goldfarb out.

Laufer made some noise in November when he won the opening event of the Rock N Roll Poker Open in Hollywood, the state’s largest poker field ever at 6,196 entries. He will be trying to win his first WPT in a few weeks when he plays the WPT Poker Showdown Championship final table in Las Vegas.
